Faith, Hope and Charity

You cannot expect us to love you;
but we will, minimally, feed you
and clothe you in our colours and imagery.

We will give you a place in our Universe
and teach you to love Death for our sake
as we, fearing Death, are unable to love it
condemned to cling to our bodies
beyond life and health and reason.

You will die sooner
but happier
loving us as the fox dies
loving the hounds.
